Both a class and a show, these
workshops will include lectures, exercises and performances within the 7 main topics of: Theatre, Stage, Actor,
Character, Director, Script, Performance. Sub-topics will include: stage movement, actor
essentials, character development, line memorization, auditioning, rehearsals, backstage etiquette, cold reading, improvisation, original material, etc. These
workshops will feature Special Guest Speakers and Special Guest
Performances and will be video recorded with selected portions posted on www.YouTube.com. If you have the slightest interest in stage acting or working in
theatre--this workshop is for you!

This is an ongoing workshop designed to give amateur playwrights the opportunity to have their scripts read by actors and receive feedback for rewriting.  We welcome writers with scripts to critique, actors who want to read new works, or anyone who wants to listen and and give constructive feedback.  It's an informal, educational and highly entertaining time for all.  We meet at leat once a month, but the dates and times vary.  Pleaes contact Willow McLaughlin at classact@acttheatre.com for more infomration or our next meeting date.

Have you ever wondered how you can keep your voice from giving out right before a play opening?  Do you often sound frog-like at the end of a long day of talking at work?  Would you like to learn all the different ways you can use your voice for singing, speaking, and acting?   Katie Koziol will be offering a series of activities and lessons on how to develop and maintain a healthy voice (and a few “fix it” tips in case of emergency.)  This class series is extremely valuable for everyone!  It's only $20 for all three classes!

Comedic Acting

“Death is easy.  Comedy is hard.”  Or so the saying goes.  Join funny man Martin Iverson for 3 special classes on how to make the most of every funny moment on stage. Each student will have the opportunity to develop a short comedy monologue and/or dialogue. Two weeks will be allowed between each class so students can develop scenes individually or with partners before the next class. Sure to be a barrel of laughs, don’t miss it! Some previous acting experience required. Students will have the opportunity to perform on May 22nd as a part of Class ACT’s Spring Fundraiser.  If you plan on taking this class, please sign up at least a week in advance.  If a minimum number is not reached, the class will be cancelled.
