Improvisation teaches students how to be more comfortable on stage, think on their feet and improve their acting skills.  But mostly it's a ton of fun!  In this class students will learn more than 15 different improvsiational games like:  Party Quirks, 60 Second Alphabet, Unlikely Superheroes and more.  The class will culminate with an improv peformance for the public.

Superheroes Unlimited

This class starts with the experience of auditioning and continues with the creation of a character, memorization of lines, and a full performance with costumes and makeup for the public.  All students will receive a major role in "Superheroes Unlimited" an original production written just for this class.  A group of under-appreciated superheroes seek the help of the mysterious Superheroes Unlimited.  They promise to show them "A Better Way To Save The Day".  But there seems to be something a little shady going on.  Are they helping the villains too?  Students will also take part in a number of theatrical games and acitivites that will help them improve their acting skills and confidence peforming in front of a group.

Pirate Adventures!

Argh!  It's time for pirate adventures, Matey!  Students will learn to walk, talk and act like a pirate.  They will also perform in a wee pirate production written especially for this class.  Along the way, they will have the chance to play fun theatre games and work on their acting skills.

The Greek Gods Television Network

This class starts with the experience of auditioning and continues with the creation of a character, memorization of lines and a full performance with costumes and makeup. The Greek Gods Television Network is a hilarious play where the Greek gods create their own reality TV network featuring their own unique shows including Hades as the host of a game show and Zeus acting as one of the three judges on Olympian Idol.   This is a great chance to create a fun and memorable character, in an original production written just for this class.

 Performances will be held on Friday July 15th and Saturday July 16th at 8 pm on ACT's Second Stage.  Admission is free.

A Hippo Ate My Homework

This class starts with the experience of auditioning and continues with the creation of a character, memorization of lines and a full performance with costumes and makeup. In A Hippo Ate My Homework a group of students are challenged by their teacher to come up with some really good excuses for their missing homework.  Each student has their moment to shine as they act out the perils of getting to school with your homework intact.  There are opportunities in this play for singers and non-singers, but all students will receive a major role in an original production written just for this class.

 Performances will be held on Friday July 23rd and Saturday July 24th at 8 pm on ACT's Second Stage.  Admission is free.

Fairy Tale Mixup

What will happen when classic fairy tale characters end up in each other’s stories?  What will the Big Bad Wolf do at Cinderella’s ball?  Every day students will expand their theatrical games by participating in cooperative drama activities.  Over the course of the week, students will get to create their own version of a classic fairy tale character, and then work as a class to create a series of fun fairy tale encounters as the usual stories get all mixed up.  These fun mixups will be presented in a free performance on Second Stage Friday July 9th at 10:45 am.

Singing Without A Script

What’s more fun than a little music, a little improv and a little musical improv?  In this class, Nathan will help actors with their singing skills, singers with their acting skills, and great fun will be had by all. This is a great class for new singers and actors, as well as those with experience.

Triple Threat

What’s a triple threat?  An actor who can also sing and dance.  In this class, students will get to explore all three areas of the theatrical arts to decide if they like one, two or all three areas.  Each class session students will get to explore acting, singing and dancing exercises.  The class will culminate in a performance for friends and parents on the last day of class.

What better way to practice acting skills and performing in front of others than trying on as many different characters as possible?  Each class session, students will participate in games and activities that will teach them how music, makeup, costumes and props can help an actor create a character.

It's not easy to stay "in character" the entire time you're on stage.  The best actors know how to react to the characters and situations around them every minute they are on stage.  Through group activities and games, students will learn the art of acting not only when they have lines, but when they are listening as well.
